I learnt just few words of vietnamese but they are nice ones 🙂

How are you and where are you now?

I got back in Tampere 3 days ago and it wasn’t easy to come back here.

The whole trip was so nice and especially after the volounteering experience I look at things in a different way.

Well, while we were there we visited Hanoi, at least all the main sites. After we went to Cat Ba and Halong Bay (where we went climbing and kayaking), then we went to Sapa, which was absolutely gorgeous. I think Francesco liked this place the most during the whole trip, it is quite similar to where he lives, except for the rice and tribes 😉

Then we had the cooperation with CSDS, which was a great experience: the kids were lovely and seemed to be interested in photography and some of them took excellent pictures! We were also amazed by how welcoming and kind people were to us during the whole stay, it was moving. Also, I found the countryside beautiful, even if I understand it’s not so easy to live there.

After this we flied to Danang and from there we visited Hoi An (nice but too much tourists!) and Hue, where we went by train and stayed one night. Hue was the only place were people tried to cheat us more than once..nothing bad happened, but still it’s a pity that they behaved like this. The beach in Danang was gorgeous and I got some tan (I know it’s not good for vietnamese girls, but it is for italians 😉 )

Overall we had a wonderful experience. I enjoyed the food a lot, even if during the time in the countryside being a vegetarian I did not have much options and ended up eating only rice and water spinach most of the time and that made me feel very tired by the end of the day. I was a little sick after that, but nothing serious, just due to being tired and to some strong air conditioning.

P.s. in Sapa we rented a motorbike and we fell: nothing serious but I hurt myself a bit, while Francesco had fun 😀
